Dr. Fred

Dr. Fred Ku is Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies) and Founding Director of Business Education for Social Good (BESGO) at CUHK Business School. With a PhD in Economics and over 15 years of teaching experience, he leads cross-sector collaborations focused on developing responsible business leadership and creating shared value through experiential learning. 


Fred has secured over HK$40 million in teaching and social innovation funding, including support from the university and the HK Government. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including as a two-time finalist at the 2024 QS Reimagine Education Awards and CUHK University Education Award. He’s also an advisor for NGOs and youth-led social ventures on sustainability and social good.

Kato Hang

Kato Hang is a freelancer in software engineering and previously worked in the education industry. His journey into the financial world was significantly shaped by an encounter with Steven Tsoi during a finance radio program, an experience that sparked new insights and directions. Having recently completed a graduate program in Computer Science in Canada; Kato brings a robust analytical approach to his work.

Steven Tsoi

Steven Tsoi is the Co-Founder and CEO of SONOVA, a cause-marketing agency allied with Social Ventures Hong Kong. 

Drawing on 20 years in Hong Kong’s radio industry—where he hosted programmes from music and infotainment to finance—Steven has, over the past eight years, channelled his expertise into social entrepreneurship. He has led and advised on impactful projects such as EXTRA MILE (Airport Authority HK), Trust Tomorrow (Swire), and JC InnoPower (HKJC Charities Trust), bridging economic insight and social innovation. 

Formerly a TEDxKowloon producer and Startup Magazine editor-in-chief, Steven now focuses on empowering youth and fostering community collaboration through SONOVA’s pioneering initiatives, making everyday economics accessible and meaningful for all.
